Im kind of new to the recording thing but ive seen it done before. How do i hook of a drum (or drums) to a computer and make it print out the notes? In other words, what software, hardware, etc. do i need and around how much will it cost to get basic equipment and get started? Please respond...

What kind of notes are you talking about MIDI notes or Musical tablature? I think Cakewalk will do both.You are a little vague,about what you are trying to do.Are you hooking up a Drum Machine or are you talking about a live drummer?

Like hooking up a live drummer and getting tabs. Mostly tenor drums for right now. I actually have cakewalk but i just dont know how to hook it up. I also have a sound blaster audigy card that has a firewire port and everything. I hooked up my keyboard, a roland rd-600, and it works good but I dont know about the drums.
