Digi 002 turns on but is not working

My Digi 002 rack turns on, but it seems to be frozen and Pro Tools is unable to locate it. What is the problem???

Do you hear the normal 3 'clicks' from the relays inside? Is there a format light on? (44.1/48 etc lights) Or does a format light come on and then turn back off? It could just need the multi-connectors from the power supply re-seated. My 002R developed a problem where it wouldn't turn on properly, a quick look inside and a re-set of all the connectors and it was fine again. I've since read there is a known issue with the connectors requiring re-seating occassionaly. Mine has been fine ever since.

The issue is actually a faulty connector. It's what we lovingly refer to as "The Power Harness Problem". It affects 002/002r units with serial numbers that end in letters A-F. (The problem was apparently corrected by the time they got to "G") If you contact Digidesign by phone, they will overnight you the parts necessary to perform the repairs. It takes all of 15 minutes to do, and you're back up and running.
