SWS Extensions Not Working: Why???

MessageAuthor

Hello. I downloaded the SWS extensions, opened the .exe file, and then I copied the .dll extension to the Reaper plugin folder in the program directory. When I open Reaper up, I get a "bad image" message that says my "C:\Program Files\REAPER\Plugins\reaper_sws64.dll is not a valid Windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette." (I downloaded and paid for Reaper online, did not install it from a CD). What do you make of this? I bought "Reaper Power" and it's great! It comes with a CD but I have to have the sws extensions to use a lot of the material on their CD. Any help? Mike

Hi Mike- I just run the sws .exe, and the .dll is copied to the correct folder automatically. Not sure why you'd copy it manually? I'd try just double-clicking on the .exe again, then "Run". If you still have a problem, maybe try downloading it again. Good luck- -Susan

Thanks, Susan. Tried to re-download it (both vwrsion, x32 and x64), but still get the same message when I open Reaper. When I download sws x32, my Norton Utility actual removes it because it is considered an "unsafe sight" with a file "threat." Don't know what to make of it. Guess I'll just do without this sws extension thing. Really don't need it, I guess. Cam't figure out how other people get to use it. Mike

I don't understand the "not a valid Windows image" message each time I open Reaper. What does mean?? It's the only file (so far) I've had in my Reaper program directory that has an error message. Reaper will still open and work OK when I click on the X mark to remove the message. But it happens every time. Mike
