need some thoughts on a new tune

A bit of a large task for me, 9 minutes !! - longest most involved tune yet and a departure from my usual comfy stuff. I had some ideas for several tunes which were going nowhere but I didn't want to ditch. I recently spent some time relaxing on a beach in 28degreesC - a far cry from December in UK - and was listening to some Jaga Jazzist and Cinematic Orchestra. It occured to that several of these ideas could be joined up in the sort of way that they do it. Of course, this attempt does not have a theme running through or one that is returned to other than the muted trumpet I suppose. Anyway I would be very grateful for any thought about the concept, the transitions and the mix in general. I will definately redo the guitars as I don't like the level of distortion or stops there and I think I have overdone the doubling/panning/left and right for some instruments. I also think it might need some sort of lead line over some parts but I just cannot seem to get it. Anyone like to have a go let me know. I also need to take a break from it for a while :) As an aside, I MP3'd this to 128kbps for soundcloud. Should it be 192 or something else?

There's a lot of good ideas in the 9:00. It was a little difficult for me to focus that long. Really like the first 2:2? the chage there is cool then I think that whole theme ends by 3:20. Anyway, Imo returning to that 1st idea a time or two would be something to consider. Most of the other merging(s) are fairly obvious and for me didn't add anything. Felt somewhat lost and nothing familiar presented itself to get me back in the tune. Something to tie it all together is needed. Again I really liked the first piece and weather it;s in this 9:00 epic or on it's own I would like to hear that idea more. Very cool

It meanders along nicely but as poster above says - pick a motif and return to that a few times. For Sound Cloud I think you should just render WAV and if you do go for MP3 then go for 320kbps for comparitive quality. I think that's right.
