help with DVD burning

How do i cut a video file in half or in to pieces the video file is on my hard drive not a DVD so how would i go about doing this.

It would be helpfull if you say what type the video is! AVI, MPEG, OGG, ...

hi and welcome to the forum, buttertoast, hoenstly you got me a little confused there! in your title, you state you need help with dvd burning! but then you ask how you can split a video file in two pieces! so as Stingrey correctly asked, what's the format you have in your hands! is it something like avi, mkv or ogm, or do you have one large m2v/mpv file! how's coming burning into play? in case it truly is an avi, here's the guide: cheers steVe
