400 series Remote programming

1995 440 si 1.6 Has anybody reprogrammed the remote fob for this series without going to the dealer. Have the instruction but wondering if someone else has done it. John

you can do it by pressing the button in a certain sequence on the diagnostic socket , are you having a problem? There is a different button pressing sequence on 1996 on 400's ..

yes thats it in Pin 1 .. the last button press is the position in memory for up to 4 keys the positions are 4 5 6 7 so you might over write existing keys .. The 1996 on method is a bit more involved !

yes it works but you have to get the button pressing done in one second intervals it may not work first time because of the timing may not be perfect . Try again ...
