Can\'t Save Session Copy In

MessageAuthor

Hello, I've just gotten 7.2 running well, so I thought. G5 2.5 gigDP, Hd3 Accel, 8 gigs ram. Earlier today, I had trouble renaming a file. PT wouldn't rename the file for some reason. I created a new session and imported data to fix it. Now i get this error when trying to SSCI to a firewire drive: "Could not ssci because (-1407) while creating "Renamed Audio FIles". I've trashed DB's, Prefs, and the rest of the troubleshooting list, emptied trash, repaired permissions and restarted with the same results. Does anyone have something I could try. I just tried creating a new session and importing data from the old 6.9 session. That didn't work either. Thanks tons for any suggestions. Chas

RE: Can\'t Save Session Copy In

I just deleted the PT v6.9 copy from the firewire backup drive and tried to SSCI. The 7.2 session then saved a copy there with no error message. However, most of the sessions are SSCI to the backup even with the 6.9 version copy still in the folder. Any thoughts? Thanks, Chas

How long was the session name? Pro Tools has only a limited number of characters. Timothy

RE: Can\'t Save Session Copy In

I assume I had the legal number of characters because I always get a notice when over 32 characters or so. Sessions that won't SSCI are any ones I've tried to SSCI after the aforementioned "rename file" didn't work(1st post). I get the notice that there already is a file with that name and do I want to replace it? PT is referring to the 6.9 version of the session that's in the backup firewire drive. When I select "replace", then I get the error referring to the rename file notice (-1407). If I delete the 6.9 session from the backup drive or change the name of the file I'm trying to backup, SSCI from 7.2 works fine. It seems like something got corrupted during the session where I tried to rename the file. Should I just delet all 6.9 sessions from the backup drive, then SSCI for each session? Or wipe the drive and resave everything? IOW, use the workaround or keep after the problem? Thanks to everyone checking out my post. Chas
