RE: Import Cubase to Reaper

I see three solutions: 1. AAtranslator: converts whole projects, so you don't worry about anything. Haven't tried it, but I heard that it's decent soft. Cons: expensive: it costs 99$, so it's more expensive than discounted Reaper's license! Link: 2. MEAP. Costs half of AAtranslator and does half (even less) of the job ;). It's a tool for automatic exporting stems in Cubase 3/4/5. It get's the job done well. But then you have to import stems to Reaper. And at the end you have no MIDI clips, no automation, just pure stems. Link: 3. Manual export of tracks: stems for audio, MIDI file for MIDI. Most timeconsuming. But the price is a bargain: 0$! (unless you don't count this work as a cost)

RE: Import Cubase to Reaper

Well summarised dr_after. Its probably a little unfair to judge price by Reaper's price :-) Given Reaper's exceptional value pretty much everything that's not free is overpriced :-) However, as far as Cubase/Reaper functionality the price for the 'standard' version of AATranslator is only $59 (we did have an introductory price of $39 which we tried to keep for as long as possible) - with free updates. All that aside if mpoirier wants me to convert one of his old projects for him then just contact me and I'm happy to do so for nothing and he can certainly decide if its worth it or not. Thanks again for the fair and balanced mention and if you want to contact me I'm happy (this time) to give you a free registration.

Thanks guys ! I'll have a look at AATranslator. I was thinking along the line of some procedure where you could record the output of the other software. But you got me thinking, I am a programmer and looking at the OPENTL or AES31 formats, maybe I can manage to put something together... Thanks, for the tip though ! Michel
