Whos using a UAD-1?

Anyone using a UAD-1 with LE? ...pros/cons? ...latency? I'm currently on 6.4

i am, i love it! the pros are youget excellent plugins. the 1176ln just blows the BF76 out of the water. i have had my uad-1 for 2 years, just recently got PT le. i was used to the 1176ln, the bf76 just sounds muddy to me. pros EXCELLENT plugins 1176ln la2a plate 140 i hear the new neve is killer too! cons latency (no PDC via PT) however, universal audio supplies a delay comp plugin that works flawlessly, only downside is it eats up an insert on ever channel that does NOT have a uad-1 plugin on it.

I got a flexi pack last week and have used it in both Pro Tools LE and DP (which has delay compensation). It's great - the only PT specific downside is PT LE's lack of APDC, but the high number of busses make it workable and the UAD Delay Compensation plugs don't seem to be much of a hit on the CPU of the card or the computer. Aside from that, the only bummer is that all the plugs are so nice, that it makes it hard to decide - definitely pick up the flexi pack if you can. I know I'll get some crap for this, but I think I've just used the BF1176 for so long that, for ultra aggressive drum use, I still kind of prefer it to the UAD 1176s for that squeezing the ring and decay out of the drums, but that might just be my bad taste - hahahah. The LA2A and Fairchild are unbelievably cool.

I have 3 cards in my aging single 1.25gHz G4. I love these plugins, and they really help out with the underpowered G4. The latency is a pain, but with 3 cards, I usually just put a EX-1 on each channel. That way I don't have to worry about latency, and can substitute an LA2A or other plugin when the channel strip isn't cutting it. 99% of the time, the channel strips seem to meet my needs and sound rather good. i'm having a lot of trouble with my UAD-1 ultra pak. i get an error message saying: "DAE ran out of time while sending audio over the PCI buss. Try reducing number of tracks, or using a playback engine with fewer voices per DSP. (-6042)" as soon as i try to use any of the UA plugs. it plays for a second or so and then crashes. this is very frustrating. does anyone have any experience in this? i have G4 500mhz, 1G ram, PT 6.4 and digi 001. i know it's an old setup put according to UA it should qualify... cheers, segu

Bezo - I believe that PT7 has increased busses from 16 to 32; go into your I/O window and you can assign the extra 16 busses.

got it working. changed places with the UAD-1 card which was on slot two and the 001 which was on slot three... after that all systems go! thanks to excellent customer service from UAD. and thanks to fxpansion too, cheerio, segu
