Cakewalk/SONAR INS files

MessageAuthor

Does the ReaFX MIDI plugin recognize the controller section (CC) of a CW Instrument Definition file (.ins)? I don't see the CC parameter list changing when I load an INS file for one of my synths. Is there any documentation available for the implementation of the INS file loading feature? I also would like to know if bank select method #3 is implemented, i.e. using prog changes 100-127 to switch banks, and drum note names. Cheers.

Alas, the answer to the first question is no. I don't know about the other two.

Can someone post an .ins file that contains this information?

Many .ins here: Documentation here: (schwa: easy to parse, it's just a .txt really) A discussion regarding a similar unified/extended format to include .reabank, note names .txt and other things (Control Change names!) here:

Here are some too I collected from the net. Padre_PC already listed the two most relevant links for the file format. Thanks!

Any updates on this? I tried the latest version (3.35) but it is still not implemented. Is it a planned feature? Thanks and sorry for my rudeness. ;-)

This probably isn't imminent, since Reaper doesn't yet support renaming CC lanes, there are a few things that need to happen prior to supporting importing CC names from files.
