Can anyone out there help me to resolve a niggling problem which seems to be spoiling a really great car? 1998 V70 T5 auto which I bought in April 2007 with only 60,000miles. Full main dealer service history up until 55k at which time to cambelt was replaced. The car drives well, although its 240bhp is less evident than the 225 on an 850 I owned some years ago, and the fuel consumption is not great. The real problem is on tickover. It idles at about 950rpm with what seems to be a distinct misfire on one cylinder. I've checked the compressions - all well at 170psi, replaced the plugs, leads, distributor cap and rotor arm but still it's missing a beat. Someone has suggested that perhaps the cambelt was installed a tooth out - I don't know if this would be the result. Any ideas will be gratefully appreciated.
